Remembering Ronald Reagan

Over the three day weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a local Reagan Day luncheon to honor our 40th President, who would have been 102 years old this month. (Pictured above is NJ Assemblyman Jay Webber.)

The afternoon was shared with good friends, great speakers, area political leaders who were influenced by Ronald Reagan and we all and much reminiscing of the of the greatest President of the 20th century took place. One of the speakers, AM 1450 Talk Radio Host Steve Hook, gave a great speech; an excerpt posted below.

"I hope we have, once again, reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There's a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law in physics. As government expands, liberty contracts."
This was just one of a few quotes of Ronald Reagan during his speech. In addition to the quotes and a beautiful memory of the first time he cast a vote in a presidential election, Steve spoke of the importance of Ronald Reagan, the influence of Ronald Reagan on him and how his leadership, as well as his vision, is truly missed in 2013, in the age of Obama.

Those of us who were politically influenced by Ronald Reagan must never forget him so that the Conservative ideals he articulated, supported and fought for shall always live on.
