For months now, I have been saying how important it is for the Republican nominee to campaign with "No Fear" in the general election against Obama. In the past two days, we have seen two examples of this. First, Allen West:
He is coming under fire for these comments, but to me and his supporters, it shows that Allen West will go through the fire to advocate for the Conservative movement and will not back down. Despite an attempt to push him out of Congress by the Florida Legislature, Allen West will be running again, but in a different district, and a District friendlier to Republicans. I am happy about this and Conservatives should be too!
Chris Christie also had his moment in the YouTube sun today:
Throughout his tenure as governor, Chris Christie has vigorously defended his policies, chastised those against him and questioned coverage of him. This is a reason why voters so highly approve of the Governor and will likely re-elect him in 2013.
Conservatives want the politicians they support to be strong leaders in advocating for them, and it is because of the success and ease that politicians like Allen West and Chris Christie have shown that has made them so popular in their first term. Looking at the national scene, it looks like Newt Gingrich has been taking notes, however Mitt Romney needs to pay more attention, roll up his sleeves and campaign with no fear if he expects to galvanize the Conservative base, assuming he is the Republican candidate.
