December to be an Exciting Disney Month!

OK, it's been two tough weeks up here in the Northeast...first Sandy and its aftermath, then Obama winning re-election. As a result, I'm quite drained and ready for an escape, and my readers know that a visit to the land of Mickey Mouse may soon be in the cards.

Because I have been to Disney World so many times in my life, I know the place inside and out! In recent years, my favorite month to visit has been December! This December, however, is going to be a pretty special one to visit. Why, you ask? Oh, let me count the ways!

1. Christmas!

As every December, the parks transform into a Christmas wonderland. Whether huge Christmas trees, icicle castles (pictured above), holiday treats, light spectaculars or special shows, it's a very special time of the year to be there!

2. Test Track Reopens!

Earlier this year, Test Track, the best ride in all of Walt Disney World, went down for a rehab. It will reopen in early December and from what I read, it seems it has been appropriately plussed! With Test Track being back online, Epcot will continue to be the best theme park in all of Walt Disney World!

3. The bulk of New Fantasyland opens!

Earlier this year, Part I of New Fantasyland opened in the form of Storybook Circus, including a new and moved Dumbo ride. Already soft opened, this expansion is the bulk of the New Fantasyland. It's away from the Utilidors, so more dramatic landscaping will be present. New Fantasyland contains The Little Mermaid ride, the Beast's Castle and the new Be Our Guest restaurant, which is the first establishment in the Magic Kingdom to serve alcohol.

While it's always fun to visit Disney, this possible visit will be much needed, and this December will likely be one of the best ever at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
