2016: Obama's America

Today, I finally saw Dinesh D'Souza's (pictured above) movie 2016: Obama's America.

Out for a few weeks and continuing to gain ground, despite most of the media ignoring it, 2016 is a documentary style film, based on D'Souza's book, The Roots of Obama's Rage. The movie attempts to answer the question: "What will America look like in 2016 if Barack Obama wins re-election this November?" To answer this question, D'Souza explores Obama's family history and interviews relatives, including his "hut living" half brother, sources used in his book and examines Obama's associations. D'Souza's unique parallels to Obama's life (born in the same year, Ivy League educated, intimate knowledge of a non-Western culture, married the same year) gives the documentary a unique perspective while indirectly showing how two men who hail from families with vehemently anti-colonial leanings can go in opposite ideological directions.

D'Souza articulately presents the information in the film and really makes one think about the roots of the Obama agenda. The film keeps viewers interested for the entire 90 minutes! If you have not read the book, I can tell you, this movie will knock you on your duff! If you have read the book, still see the movie. It is my hope that as many Americans as possible make it to the theaters to 2016: Obama's America. Tell your friends and ask them, "Is this the direction you want to see an American President take the United States of America?"
