Congressional Pep Talks in the Tarheel State

"The 'Right' Solutions" is back from hiatus (and ended up being a day longer, due to a cancelled flight). I spent the past four days in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Young Republican National Federation's Summer Conference; 1 1/2 months before the DNC comes to the Queen City.

We had the pleasure of two Congresswomen speaking to our group. First was Renee Ellmers (who I am pictured with above) whose home district is in the Research Triangle region. She's very articulate and speaks passionately, especially about ObamaCare, considering her professional background is nursing (Ellmers was a RN). Interesting to note, she spoke at the YRNF event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, a venue the Democrats had to cancel for their DNC.

Also addressing the YRNF was Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, from Tennessee. This was the first time I met her, after seeing her on Hannity, on many occasions over the years. Below is her speech, where she spoke on behalf of Mitt Romney. The Congresswoman is a rising star in the Republican Party!

Republicans in the state of North Carolina are excited about this election and are working hard to see that the Tarheel State is not Democrat Blue, come November. I believe this is a state that will flip to red and I will write more about this in the coming weeks.

Hats off to the YRNF and the NCFYPR for putting on a great weekend, as well as to Congresswoman Ellmers and Congresswoman Blackburn for taking the time out of their busy schedule to meet with us! The Southern Charm of Charlotte was quite evident in my weekend visit, and I recommend, to my readers, to take a trip to this thriving city!
