Let's be honest. I am sick and tired of talking about the issue of "government payment of contraception as a women's rights issue" and stand by that it's nothing but a big distraction from the President's lack of leadership and disastrous policies.
I will grit my teeth and discuss this issue to express approval of what I saw on television tonight. On CNN, Erin Burnett has a show that goes head to head with O'Reilly and tonight she had on Obama Campaign Strategist David Axelrod. Burnett asked an excellent question on the double standard between Rush Limbaugh and Bill Maher, and whether or not the recent $1 million donation should be returned to Bill Maher.
Axelrod continued to rally around Maher and does not realize that by making a donation, you become a part of the political process, more so than Rush does. Even though he has 30 million listeners, (note how Axelrod low-balled that figure) Rush has not made a political donation, therefore is not as directly involved as Maher is. Hats off to Erin Burnett for attempting to show that journalism is not fully dead by asking the question she did.
This week, the president took a nosedive in approval ratings; even more evidence that Americans are sick and tired of this issue and wish that the media would be talking about the more important issues affecting America: high unemployment, high costs of energy, the dangers of Iran and out of control spending.
Right now, it only seems the Republican candidates are the ones providing Americans with solutions to these problems, that frankly, were caused by this president's policies.
